Enjoying Authentic Thai Gourmet – A Small Tour

Thailand is the Royal Kingdom lying towards Southeast of Asia. The country is visited by tourists for its pristine beaches, great climate and mostly for the lip-smacking Thai gourmets. It is one of the most complicated well-advanced cuisines of the world. Thai cuisine is more like an art where the right ingredients are used carefully in a well-structured procedure to create a culinary excellence. Even the aroma of a Thai dish can invoke your taste buds. It can bring out all the sensations ranging from sweet, sour to even tangy tastes.

All the flavors and aroma are a balanced blend and there would be no excess of any flavor even with so many elements involved in it. This is achieved with the heart of the Thai gourmet that remains as the main part of the dish with the rest of it working on this central element. And this heart is mainly rice. There are several varieties of rice and the most popular one is jasmine rice. As the name suggests it is known for its fragrance. Regardless of the time of the day, rice becomes a part of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each time it is made in varied styles and flavors accompanied by soups and curries.

The time taken for Thai gourmets is due to the complexity of the dishes. Fresh ingredients are used right from the herbs to even coconut milk. Coconut milk is the base of most Thai dishes and the Thai people will never use frozen or canned ingredients when cooking authentic Thai food. The preparation procedure plays an important role in the final outcome and therefore it is done with utmost care. Unlike other cuisines, the chefs do not give away the preparation and grinding procedures to their helpers and they make intricate effort to make the pastes and curry.

Enjoying-Authentic-Thai-Gourmet

Seafood is very abundant in Thailand and Thai gourmets have it as an important aspect. Seafood cooked in coconut oil is made in varied flavors and combined with rice. Fish sauce is either used as it is or added to dishes to improve its taste factor. One of the top popular Thai dishes is Tom Yung Goong soup. It is made of two main variations, with or without coconut oil. The basic soup is spicy and fierce. The taste is made milder with the coconut oil.

While talking about Thai gourmet, one can’t leave apart the role of Pad Thai fried noodles. It is an ancient dish and has evolved over the years with several variations. Thai food contains herbs and spices which add to the medicinal value of food. Garlic and other spices can cut down the impact of the oil used in the Thai Gourmets.

There are even more Thai delicacies famous all across the globe liked by many. You can find Thai food anywhere you travel as it has become a finger-licking cuisine among all!

Organic Fruits: A Better Choice for Health of Your Family and Yourself!

When you go for fruits, it is always better that you choose to go for organic fruits. An organic fruit tastes better. It is free from preservatives and also good for the environment. Moreover, organic fruits are free from GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).

Let’s consider an instance. If you go for papaya, it is better to go for a papaya which is grown organically.

Why Go For Organic Papaya Over Normal Papaya?

Papayas are high in vitamins A and C, good for the skin and good for the immunity. These are full of enzymes that aid the digestion process.

By consuming papayas, one can reduce bloating. Papayas are high in calcium.

Use papaya to make a smoothie, put some over oatmeal or make a fruit salsa using papaya. The tropical taste and flavors will get you!

But there is a checklist you must keep in mind. You must try and make sure that your papaya is not genetically modified. To get the best out of your papaya, you must make sure that it is free from GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).

Let’s know more about GMOs.

GMOs are produced in a lab. This is done by taking the gene of one species and putting it into another. This allows a scientist to get the desired traits in the new specie.

Why Does One Need To Avoid GMOs?

It is recommendable to avoid GMOs because one wouldn’t know how they are produced. It may be possible that GMOs are made by using virus or bacteria to infect a new species with some other specie’s DNA.

So it is difficult to assume the effect GMOs would have on our bodies.

Apart from papayas, some of the most genetically modified foods are:

Cottonseed

Canola Oil

Sugar beets

Corn

Soy

Zucchini

A simple way to make sure that papayas that you buy are free from GMOs is by looking for the non GMO verified label on papaya. This is also one of the reasons one must choose organic papaya over a normal papaya.

As you build proximity nature, you come to realize that it is natural resources which withhold the key to eternal health and wellness. Welcome to the Goa Wellness Festival, 2018. We look forward to facilitate a delightful enlightening experience for every one of our esteemed guests.

10 Snacks That Burn Fat

Whether lying awake in bed at night when hunger pangs strike, or at a social gathering where snack plates are circulating, most of us have experienced food cravings that are just too hard to resist. When the time comes to choose your snack, are you prepared to make the right decision? More specifically, are your prepared to reach for a food that will actually burn more calories than it contains? These types of foods, called negative calorie foods, have so little energy that your body uses more energy to digest and absorb the nutrients than the food actually contains! Switching to negative calorie foods for the majority of your snacking, combined with a solid exercise program, can enable you to literally watch fat melt away! This article is going to give you a jump-start on your nutrition with 10 negative energy snacks that will boost your metabolism and burn loads of calories.

1.Cabbage. I suggest supplementing a daily salad with sliced cabbage strips, or finding a healthy cabbage salad recipe.10-Snacks-That-Burn-Fat2. Celery. Drenched in peanut butter and raisins does not count.

3.Cucumber. Sliced cucumbers make a great addition to any salad or stir-fry

4.Carrots. Again, sliced on salad, or eaten raw, if you prefer.

5.Tomatoes. Cherry tomatoes are great snacks, or stack them on a healthy sandwich with lettuce (another negative calorie food!).

10-Snacks-That-Burn-Fat-16.Blackberries/Raspberries/Strawberries. Great for snacking raw, or throwing into a blender or a bowl of oatmeal.

7.Grapefuit. A bowl of fresh grapefruit on the breakfast table is a smart addition.

8.Watermelon/Honeydew/Canteloupe. Again, good for smoothies, nice for breakfast, great for snacking.

9.Peaches. Throw into a ziplock bag for a convenient snack at work or travel. Just remember napkins.

10.Mandarin oranges. Wonderful on salads, or with a meat such as chicken.

So how does it work? Basically, your body’s response to the presence of these foods results in the production of digestive enzymes, which act like small engines to break up carbohydrates, protein, and fat. However, because of their specific vitamin and mineral content, the enzyme response to these foods is so great that there are enough engines to not only break down the negative calorie food, but also additional calories that are present in digestion. So a 5 calorie piece of celery may take 30 calories to burn, resulting in a negative 25 calorie intake. Amazing! You can e-mail me with questions at elite@pacificfit.net. Remember to train smart!

The most popular coffees in the world – Best coffee

Factof life – Coffee has become many’s favourite drink today. We all know that Italy is the largest place of producing coffee, however, Vietnam and Brazil are the top two producers of the world. And while we may be most familiar with the good old Cappuccino, we will introduce the most popular coffees consumed in the world.

Espresso-best-coffee-in-the-world

South Indian

South Indian filter coffee is brewed in a percolator with a metal device that resembles two cylindrical cups, one of which has a pierced bottom that nests into the top of the “tumbler” cup, leaving ample room underneath to receive the brewed coffee. How to have it: The coffee decoction is mixed with hot boiling milk and sugar to your taste to enjoy this special coffee that originated in the South of India.

Vietnamese

A Vietnamese drip coffee is strong coffee made simply in a small filter. The coffee is placed in the filter with hot water from where it drips into the cup placed below. The device used to make the Vietnamese coffee is similar to the one we use to make our South Indian coffee in India. How to have it: The coffee is usually had black with condensed milk. However, it tastes equally good if you top the coffee with milk as per your choice.

Espresso

Espresso is a strong black coffee made by forcing steam through dark-roast aromatic coffee beans at high pressure in an espresso machine. A perfectly brewed Espresso will have a thick, golden-brown crema on the surface. If the crema is good, the sugar you add will float on the surface for a couple of seconds before slowly sinking to the bottom. Espresso is the foundation for a wide variety of specialty coffees such as the Cappuccino, but many aficionados insist that adding anything (besides a bit of sugar) is blasphemy. How to have it: Espresso should be taken either on its own or with a small teaspoon of sugar. Having it “short” means that it has less water and is therefore more concentrated, and “long” conversely, uses more water and does not taste as strong.

Turkish

Turkish coffee is a very flavourful, and often strong, coffee. It is prepared in an ibrik, a small pot that holds either one or two servings. Traditionally, the pot was placed in the hot sands of the Mediterranean for cooking. How to have it: Turkish coffee is best had black, but you can also add milk as an option.

Americano

An Americano is a single shot of Espresso added to a cup of hot water. Having it iced on a hot day can be a treat. How to have it: Many like to drink it as they would their regular brewed coffee, with milk and/or sugar, but connoisseurs suggest keeping milk to a minimum to get the most flavour from the Espresso.

Cappuccino

This hugely popular coffee drink has become a staple that even the most common of corner coffee shops serve. A true Cappuccino is a combination of equal parts espresso, steamed milk and milk froth. This luxurious drink, if made properly, can double as a dessert with its complex flavours and richness. How to have it: It is common to sprinkle your cappuccino froth with a bit of unsweetened cocoa powder or grated dark chocolate.

Why do onions make your eyes water?

There exists a strange but true fact of life that it’s hard to hold back tears while slicing onions. But the reason why onions make your eyes water is not easy to explain. Check out to find the answer below:

why-onions-make-eyes-water1

Lindsey du Toit, a scientist at Washington State University said about this fact: “It’s not the onion itself that makes us cry,” she explained, “but a chemical reaction that starts when you cut into it.”

When onions are chopped, it ends up breaking cells within the onion, which release certain enzymes. These enzymes then react with the sulfur, creating amino acid sulfoxides. These, in turn, create the highly unstable syn-propanethial-S-oxide, which is a combination of sulfuric acid, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide.

When this substance, in a gaseous state, comes in contact with the moisture in your eye, it triggers a burning sensation via the ciliary nerve. When the brain gets a message that there is an irritant in the eye, such as the above, it then kicks the lachrymal glands into overdrive, trying to flush the irritant out of your eyes with tears.
